Heya everyone,

sry if this topic was posted in wrong place but didnt know where to post it so made a new topic, to explain our situation...

i am an Algerian guy thats in middle of K1 visa process and was going through topics when i found some topics talking about religious ceremony, so my fiancé and i had a religious engagement ceremony since a couple cant be together until throwing an engaement party and exchanged rings along with witnesses nothing official on paper , so like we had pictures of the party and my fiancé wrote in the back traditional religious ring ceremony instead of engagement ceremony, will this be a problem with our paperwork when USCIS review the case,

Any helpful response would be greatly appreciated.

COs are usually familiar with local customs...it is their job, after all. But if she wrote the word "wedding" on the pictures, at the LEAST you should be prepared for questions about this ceremony. The only thing you can do now is be prepared to answer those questions, but yes, it might cause some problems at the interview.

The only problem is if that ceremony is consider a weding in your country.

Get preper because as you say that she lebeled 2 fotos saying weding, that is going to be a problem.

Maybe the co can think that you are married.

Married for a k1 but no enough married for a cr1 .

It is definitely going to cause questions, how much will depend on how "weddingy" the pics look. It is also possible the embassy will do its own investigations, by contacting friends, family and neighbours and asking them about you as a couple, and if they were "at the wedding ceremony". better hope no-one says yes.....

The USCIS can still inquire if they feel you've had a wedding already. They'll ask before they deny.
