Visa still not received 12 days after interview

This is frustrating. Me and my son's visa still not released by the USEM. Had our interview last Nov. 12, approved, no 221g and issued that night in ceac website. Called USEM this morning and said our passport's still with them and cannot tell how long we have to wait for them to be released. They said it was a case to case basis knowing others already got their passport with the same interview date. So yeah, it was just sad waiting without time frame. Husband's heartbroken saying he might spend xmas time alone in US. Oh well..

I honestly think you will get your passports with the visa real soon. It could take anywhere from a week to 2 weeks. I dont believe it will take that long that your husband will be alone for Christmas. Praying that you get it soon.

Hi yanyan. I see but the thing is our status were "issued" the night of our interview date. We're not under AP. USEM staff just said they cant just tell how long would it take for the passport with visa will be released even there are no problems with our case. Its crazy :(

Thanks iammrsregi. I actually saw your post how to track the visa, but nothing shows up for us yet since visa's still in USEM. I really hope we got them soon coz my husband's so sad as we both thought me and our son could be with him this Christmas.

Christmas is still a month away so dig deeper for more patience. Unfortunately no one here can tell you when you'll get your visa. Most times we see 7-14 business days and others up to 6 months and some a year. Sounds like your case was easy so should hear something soon.

12 is not a lot. Ours took 14, and that was considered good at the time (this past May). Does ustraveldocs say "issued"? If so you are very close. It takes embassy about 2 days to get it to 2Go, and from there it depends on the delivery you chose. If you chose to pick it up at 2Go Manila office, that is about 3 to 5 days. If you are in a remote province, you may be looking at two weeks.

Notihng here shows me you are having any problem. Just sit tight and it should be there very soon.

Wow. I hope ours doesn't take that long. I got here Nov 24 (Monday). We interviewed the next day. Ran into an issue with her NBI clearance. She had the "no criminal record" comment issue, so my wife had to interview with the NBI Friday Nov 21st. Thanks to my Senators involvement, and the complete screw ups that happened at the USCIS, NVC & Embassy level, the Embassy called the NBI and confirmed her passing the "quality control" portion of her NBI interview. The Embassy said they'd pick up the NBI quality control letter Monday Nov 24....but as I expected....they didn't. Caused a HUGE problem the day of our interview Nov 25th. The interviewer was this snotty jerk named Seth that didn't want to listen to our issue. He wouldn't even let me speak to a supervisor. I had to once again email my senators office to even get this consular officer named Seth to have a supervisor come and speak to us. A supervisor named Adam came to our aide finally. Adam told me the consular officer had no right to not allow us to speak to a supervisor. Adam accepted the fact that the Embassy screwed up again and that the Embassy was supposed to have picked up my wifes NBI "quality control" letter that Monday after her NBI interview last Friday. Adam told us not to worry, that they'll go and pick up the letter now & just take a seat. Adam sent someone especially to the NBI to pickup the quality control letter. It got back to the Embassy within an hour. (amazing how when pressure is applied from above, how all of a sudden....they start doing their jobs). Adam the supervisor was now dealing with us. Adam called us back to the window and explained you're going to the last window and they'll give you your final instructions. So we waited again and then were called to the clearing portion for my wifes Visa. The last person we dealt with was this Filipino guy who ALSO had real attitude!!

This new guy started off with the same BS about her NBI clearance letter. And when I tried to interject, he cut me off and said, "do you mind? I know exactly everything that's going on with your case because it's all written in the explanations here in my screen". So I let him talk and he continued on with the same BS about us needing to get her NBI, that you need to go there and interview, bla, bla, bla. So I cut him off and said, NO!!! YOU NEED TO SPEAK TO ADAM BECAUSE ADAM JUST TOLD US A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STORY!!! Adam told us the the NBI quality control letter is supposed to be here already!! So this guy goes and has to speak to Adam and now he comes back with, "ok...the girl is just outside the Embassy. She'll be here in 5 minutes." Oh my God! I thought to myself, are ALL of these people incompetent idiots? Or is the system just sooooooo screwed up that there's little hope for any real reform?? So he says, "ok....hold on."

An American Hispanic fellow who was waiting at the window with me also said, "I don't know if it's from the culture, or it's just him, but I don't think he realizes he's actually being very rude". I told him I didn't know, but I've had just about enough of these bureaucrats that think they're not accountable to anybody. They're job is supposed to be to HELP us....not be a hinderance to my wifes immigration process.

So the man came back to the window and said, "Ok. Everything is fine. We have your NBI quality control letter and your Visa's will be approved. Just go to the next window & give 2Go where you want it delivered." I had to ask..."are you sure?? Are you saying we don't have to come back to the Embassy for anything now? That the Visa's are approved and that we're done here?". He said yes.

Ok. So. Sorry to have been so long winded. But the moral of my story is, the squeaky wheel gets the oil. And the more authority your "oil" has (like from a U.S. Senators or Congresspersons office) constantly sending emails to their liaisons within the Embassies office, the sooner you'll get answers.

My suggestion? If you're near the Manila Embassy? If you don't have to make an appointment to go into the immigration area, just sit down and wait for a window to be open where there's an agent and ask them to get you a supervisor. Show them your case number and maybe a print screen of your Visa approval. Ask them to tell you what the hold up is. Or, call them and ask to speak to a Chief in the immigrant Visa section. Or, have your U.S. Citizen call his Senator &/or Congresspersons office. They'll make him fill out a form to help him and have the Senator or Congressperson contact the Embassy and ask what the hold up is.

Nobody should accept poor attitudes, no explanations or excessive delays. The Visa process is paid for by your fees....so Congress does not have to fund these operations. So in others words, your fees by these employees paychecks...and you should EXPECT good and efficient service from them. They are not doing you any favors, they are paid to DO THEIR JOBS. Period. End of story. If they're overloaded with work, it's their jobs to run this up the flag pole to superiors and start to hire more people.

Hi. Updates guys. Just received a text msg from 2go today @5pm that my son's visa is ready for pick up. I asked if mine was with them also, unfortunately it's still on the embassy. What I did is check on ceac and it says "ready"last updated today Nov.28. It was "issued" Nov.24, Nov. 25 and now changed to ready. Was that a good sign or how many more days do I still have to wait? Oh well, hoping it would be sooner.
