Admin, I am really sorry if I am posting to the wrong forum. I have a question regarding case number.

I called NVC last week and they told me that my application was uploaded and they gave me a case number that starts with FRN2014 which stands for frankfurt, Germany. the marriage took place in Jordan, and we stated on the I-130 form that we would like to do the consular processing in Jordan, Amman.

the marriage certificate was translated in Jordan, and stamped from the Court and secretary of state in Jordan, would that cause any troubles if we do the interview in Germany?

please advise

is it better to call them and tell them we want to change to Amman, jordan, or keep it with Frankfurt, Germany? what are the pros and cons?

If you're living in Germany now then stick with Frankfurt. They're probably much faster and more efficient anyway. As long as the marriage certificate is an original and is professionally (as in, not done at home) translated then it's totally acceptable for Frankfurt.

yea it was professionally translated then I think it is better to stick to Frankfurt.

I think NVC centre looks where the beneficiary lives and assigns the consulate automatically.

it is weird that you filed after us, and though you got your interview before us... I think it depends on the country of the beneficiary?

I see on your timeline "NVC received". Did you do DCF through Frankfurt? (Is the USC living in Germany with you?) If so, the you automatically skip the NVC process with DCF and instead of entering that date into "NVC received" it'd be "Consulate received" as Frankfurt's immigrant visa unit process your AOS and IV packages directly.

I think, honestly, that whenever it's simply a USC living in the home country of a foreigner (and in a low fraud country at that) it seems to go lightning fast for that couple. Others have gone through even faster than us, actually. One guy recently got approval after just 2 months.

we did a mistake and filed in the USCIS instead of DCF. yes the USC is living with me in Germany. we are now in the NVC. even when I check the status on the NVC it says at NVC.

Ouch, a very costly mistake. You're fortunate your I-130 was approved so quickly already. For many that can take up to 6-9 months just for an NOA2. So, now you see why we got our interview before you.

Did your lawyer make any reference to Jordan being the place to interview? Or was everything pointing to where you live now? Personally I would stick to where you live. Germany is a very friendly embassy and pretty easy.

If you are living in Germany why would you want to interview in a more difficult embassy? The interview location is based on where the beneficiary is legally residing not where they were born.

When I mentioned you should change your case number I was unaware you were both living in Germany. Most people who are both living in Germany file DCF if they're eligible.

we have mentioned on the I-130 that the consulate of interest is Jordan, Amman. I think the NVC assigns the consulate automatically based on where the beneficiary lives.
