CSC --> NVC: Typically how long?

Hello!

I was just wondering if anyone knows roughly how long it typically takes CSC to send approved K1 petitions over to NVC? I've read on VJ that they are known for sending them in batches but does anyone know how often? Once a month? Twice a month?

I know it's still early days for us but I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about this!

Thank you in advance :)

2 weeks. But there was a whole thread about some VJers waiting a month or more. You can look those thread up. I think one is NVC rant

U can start calling 1-603-334-0700 after 2 wks to get ur case #. We received a letter from NVC within a month with our case #.

Thanks! I have noticed it seems to be taking quite a bit longer for some people so keeping my fingers crossed that isn't the case for us! I will have him call in two weeks :)

Yes I saw that it was taking some months to get their case #. We were at CSC and we must have just hit the right batch because in 15 days NVC had assigned our case #. Best of luck to you!

Believe the best advice is to get your ducks in a row being prepared to pay the fees and fill out the online forms and sending in the documentation. Each steps takes more time. Hopefully your wait will be short to get things rolling, ours was about 3 Weeks to get a case number and invoice and a few additional days for the site to be loaded. Many folks suggest you call as 2 weeks approaches to see if you can get the numbers, but it made no difference in our case as the website was not ready with the info until we were notified anyway. Calling can be a true source of frustration and in raising the anxiety level. Getting through and waiting for basically a clerk who really can do nothing is nothing but a problematic type affair. Right now for most the NVC is pretty jammed up with many waiting for 5 months or more from NAO2 to Interview. In the case of NVC being notified it is more about NVC recognizing they have the NAO2. They know they have a problem and have communicated it as recent as last week and are saying they are trying to staff up. Hopefully it starts getting better before it gets any worst. Congrats on getting through the first half!

Five months from NOA2 to interview? For a K-1? That doesn't sound accurate at all. And even in cases where it takes that long, it's probably more the consulate's fault than NVC's. Can you point to specific cases of this?

The original poster is clearly asking about K-1, not IR-1/CR-1.

Thank you both :)

Yes, it's very frustrating; however I realize that there are many people waiting longer than myself so I am trying to stay upbeat and remember that everything happens when it is supposed to (according to the universe)
