Help! Frankfurt Embassy wait times & I-797 Approval Notice Expiration Date - will it be too late?

Hello all,

I have a very urgent question: Due to a number of reasons, we were kept up in filing Packet 3.

I believe I am now ready to send it out tomorrow (Monday, November 24th, 2014).

But our I-797 Notice of Action reads that the approval of our visa is valid until January 7th, 2015.

If I don't get the interview or my visa by that date (and processing times at the embassy seem to suggest that that's a possibility), will we lose the application and have to do the whole thing over again?

Sorry but I'm really panicking about this. Could this be a possibility? Is there anything we can do?

No, the consulate will probably just extend the validity of the I-129F petition in case you will have your interview after January 7th. If you are really that worried, e-mail Frankfurt and ask them to extend it ("formlose Verlaengerung").
