processing times

Hello all,

I noticed that a lot of USCIS packets were adjudicated and the NOA2 sent immediately before and immediately after.. Should I be concerned?

I really over submitted and am a government employee with a security clearance...Is this just an anomoly in processing? I am going to Colombia for 3 weeks over Christmas and wanted to use part of that time for us to collect documents for packet 3 and 4, and submit them while i was there...

I don't know what you mean by the NOA2 being "sent immediately before and immediately after". But you are just in the waiting stage until getting your approval, which could take 5 or 6 months. This is normal.

I would wait until you have your NOA2 before you start collecting required documents for the interview. The documents should be fairly recent at the time of interview. You also will not submit anything to the embassy (no packet 3 or 4 to return), your fiancée will bring everything with her to the visa interview.

I am also a government employee who has a security clearance. Did you meant that the USCIS has approved a number of petitions sent around the same time as yours and that they've received their NOA2s? My petition took a few more days than the normal CSC processing times at that time (like two more weeks) but I included a lot of stuff and made the oops of stapling my items. But I highly doubt that there's much if any additional scrutiny to your case unless you have Top Secret or higher clearance and even then... I'm still doubtful.

Thanks guys.. just a big curiousness, when you see approvals, at the USCIS level at the same time, but none for you... I have a feeling its going to be months of holding our breath until blue in the face...

You're Philippines, so you'll be expedited before everyone else. You're not really in the same boat as the rest of us with waiting months and months... You're one of the lucky ones

I waited almost 3 months and got an RFE this morning. So yes my beneficiary is from the Philippines but I was not expedited...meaning I didn't get approval in 20 days or less.

It's not about getting your approval necessarily. They pick up your case file quicker than they do for anyone else. They were approving Philippines people who filed in October already, while there are still July filers waiting.

The reason for your not approval was your RFE, but that doesn't mean you didn't get expedited. They still picked up your file quicker than other people's. Once you send your RFE I'm confident that you'll get your approval very quickly! Good luck!
