Sending AOS very soon, please help!

Hi, my wife and I are living in NC and her step-dad is the joint sponsor living in PA, what we did is: My wife and step-dad(joint sponsor) each filled I-864, as I understand we don't need to file an I-864A since my wife is not living in the same household with the joint sponsor. Is that the right way to do it? Please advise. Also, what documents does joint sponsor need to submit except for tax returns and latest pay stabs? We are very close to send our application.
