Hey guys so we are waiting for our AP/EAD combo pack, but I want to make sure of something. When we do receive the AP card we went to go on our honeymoon since we want to go outside the U.S. Will we be questioned about "emergency use" or related to that? I don't want any trouble getting back in the US. Any advice?! Or did someone wait till their AP card came in to go on their honeymoon. What was your experience of this? Thanks!

This was my experience and may not reflect that of the others:

Went home so my husband and I could have a wedding celebration there because my family were not able to go to our wedding here. Used my AP. I brought my marriage certificate since I used my passport still with my maiden name. At POE (LAX) I was not even asked why I traveled out of the US, nor did they ask for the marriage certificate. They did ask who I traveled with.

So I'm assuming that they won't question us if we went for an emergency purpose or not. AP is meant to travel outside the US and get back in at anytime no matter of the number of trips until green card arrives right? Im just trying to make sure that I have this right before making I make mistake.

There's a possibility that they won't question you about the nature of your trip, like in my situation. I've heard of people here in VJ who went on non-emergency trips, like visiting family back home or short vacations. Personally I wouldn't make too many trips outside the US while on AOS. The AP is not a guarantee for re-entry, so I think It would best to keep the number of trips to a minimum.
