So, two years ago when things were all good in the marriage front and the concept of a family was appealing to my stepfather. My mom and stepdad started the process to bring me (then 20) to the US. It all went good, we filled out the forms, got the medical examination, went to the interview and got my visa. I moved to the US and have been living here for almost a year (as a legal permanent resident with a green card and social security card) when things in their marriage started going downhill and this ended up in them separating. Now he's filing for divorce. My question is, will my legal permanent resident status be affected by that? My stepfather was my sponsor during this whole process since (at the time) he was a citizen and my mom was a permanent resident. Now my mother is a citizen.

hi

you got a 10 year GC, right? then no, it won't affect you because you aren't in any process. you will file for Citizenship having 5 years of being a LPR

he will still be your sponsor even if they divorce, until you become a USC

No, you're fine. It does not affect either your status or his sponsor responsibilities.
