Hello, I'm a K1 visa. It is my first time to travel outside the country.

I am going to travel to US this coming 3rd week of November and I will be traveling alone because my fiance will just meet me in Japan where I am going to stop over. I will travel from Manila airport and ticket will be purchased by my fiance online.

Do I need to pay the terminal fee and travel tax?

I need some information also about the procedure or the process I am going through after check-in my luggage. What I am going to do after check in?

Hope you can share ideas...Thank you.

Yes to both. P1620 & P550

I suggest paying the travel tax before checking your luggage. After you check your bags you will head toward the gates area, on the way there you will pay your terminal fee. Then you wait for your flight to board.

They said going out the country will need to have check immigration section. Where and when to go there?

Customs is on the way to the gates, trust me you will not miss it ;)

If you are flying out via NAIA3 (assuming so since you're flying via Japan to the States),

The area where you pay travel tax is all the way to the left side (once you enter Terminal 3) on the Departure Level.

Do this before you check in because last August when the wife and I vacationed to Hong Kong and tried to check in first, the gate agent held onto our boarding passes until I went and paid for us. (Luckily once paid, I went up to the counter directly to get our passes).

Once checked in, you'll be going to the international departures. First up, you'll pay the Int'l terminal fee. After that, you'll go thru Philippine Immigration (I can't remember if you'll need to fill up a departure card. If you do, just fill your fiance's address as your address abroad).

After that, there's the various security checks and then heading to your gate.

And from there, the flight to Japan to meet your fiance (will you be meeting him in the airport, or will you be entering Japan?) and then the big bird to the States and the words we all hope for our wives/fiances/family to hear "Welcome to the United States." =)

To manilaraf:

I ask about travel tax, I heard that I don't need to pay travel tax because they said travel tax is only to paid for the tourist. And since my visa is different I dont need to pay travel tax. Is it true?

My fiance will travel Japan and stay overnight in the hotel and the next day is my arrival in Japan airport and and meet me there. So we will travel together going to US.

I have sort of related question so I thought I would ask here. Our son will have two passports, Philippines and USA, when flying from Manila to the USA via Japan with my K1 fiancee. Our estimated travel month is February, and at that point our son will be 9 months old. My fiancee's case is obvious, but what is our son's tax treatment as far as Philippine Travel Tax is concerned?

There is info on tax exemption the the travel tax link. I believe for a child they must be under 2 years of age at time of travel. Do some reading on the Tieza site under the travel tax tab.
