I-864 questions (split topic)

I am in the similar boat. I was laid off in late July (was on severance pay thru October) and we sent my I-864, 3-year tax transcripts/W2, my joint sponsor's I-864 with 3-year tax returns/W2, his employment letter and IV package on Sept 18th (NVC received them on 24th). I am in the process of getting a job offer and will start working soon. I am planning to go to India on Nov 23rd and stay in India until my spouse's interview is completed.

Questions:

1) Should I stay in the US and wait for a checklist or Case Complete?

2) Will I have to redo a new I-864 for my spouse's interview after I start on my new job? My current income is much greater than poverty line even though I am unemployed after late July. I have assets -- much greater than 3x poverty line of 2 people. My joint sponsor's income is much greater than poverty line as well.

I am not sure if my asnwers are correct or not and maybe somebody else who has more information can shed more light on it.

1) I am guessing you can be in India. I have read a lot of posts where people stayed in with their significant other out of US and they were okay. So I suppose you should be fine given thaat you have joint sponsors along with yourself.

2) I don't really have answer to this question as to whether you would need a rework your 864 or not, maybe someone else will be able to give you a better answer.
