Hi all -

We had our interview in Lima, Peru yesterday and were approved! This post is to warn anyone that might not know:

If you are having a friend/family member fill out the Affidavit of Support for you, please note that the PETITIONER MUST ALSO FILL OUT AND SIGN A COPY.

At the interview, when they realized that I (the USC petitioner) had not completed an Affidavit of Support, they had me fill out and sign an Affidavit of Support copy to hand in together with the Affidavit that a family member had helped out with.

Because I was present at the interview, this slight inconvenience caused no delay or large problems, just a rush of adrenaline and a little panic.

However, for petitioners who cannot be present at the interview, or who are sending everything from the USA, not having a signed Affidavit of Support form could potentially cause very long delays!

For those of you with interviews coming up, please triple check that you, too (the USC petitioner), have filled out and signed a copy of the Affidavit of Support.
