So I had my interview this morning at 9am and I just wanted to post a note that the initial processor wanted my spouse's birth certificate even though it wasn't listed on the interview letter.

I did not have it and she said it would be okay, that it was "new", but I was very panicked!

I was approved (hooray!) and have to thank everyone on here for the invaluable tips and info provided. There are so many gaps in the info process, without this site I don't know how people get through!

So if you're having an interview soon and can bring your spouse's birth certificate, definitely do, just in case.

I had same experience on Wednesday, bmc - my lawyer said I wouldn't need hubby's birth certificate or his divorce papers, but they asked for exactly those.

Thankfully I had them both. Interviewer asked a couple of questions, but nothing I couldn't answer.

The joys of the second time around or something?????

I would also recommend to over prepare for sure....................

Peace.

need to bring the following documents to your appointment:

1. US Petitioner's original birth certificate & one photocopy

Thank you for your understanding,

interesting. So if the Petitioners birth certificate is not in English, then that would need to be translated I am assuming.

Yes. I would also bring the photocopy of their bid at a page of their US passport if that is the case.

We got our Case approved Oct 20 and still waiting on our interview to be scheduled...anyone know how long we have to wait for that perhaps?

Tracking on the Case Complete --> INterview sheet shows most people are getting their interviews within 5 days.

We didn't need it but I brought copies of EVERY single document, receipt, and paperwork we ever sent to both the USCIS & NVC - just in case. Better to be overprepared and sail through smooth. good luck to all

If this info was included in the I129F is it possibly they won't be asking for it?

Find it odd that we have to bring out Fiances orginal birth cert. plus a copy.

But if its needed then I guess we bring it.

If you don't get an interview date by the 15th, it'll probably come at the beginning of Jan.

Since the 15th is past you likely have a little wait.
