Hello everyone,

I am having a hard time filling out the paperwork because of my situation. I am an unemployed, full-time student and depend on my father for finances, which is why he is the primary sponsor for my husband. However, looking over question 1 on part 3, it does not give me the option to check off "no" as a sponsor unless there are two joint sponsors. What on earth do I do?

A little background information:

- I worked for a few months in 2013 so my tax transcripts show less than $1,000. (I know, very low)

- I am dependent of my father (he makes well above the poverty line)

- I live in an apartment with my husband. (under my/my dad's name)

Please, please, please help me out. My stress levels are skyrocketing...

Thank you so much,

Daniella

Daniella,

If you are trying to remove yourself as a sponsor because you don't have income or anything, it doesn't matter. As the spouse, you have to complete an I-864 regardless. It is just protocol. You'd just add your father as a joint sponsor. You'd check YES here.

Thank you for the quick response! When I sent the AOS, I only sent the I-864 my father filled out, which lead to the RFE for my I-864...

I have a few more concerns that I will try to state as simply as possible.

1. In part 5, number 7 of the Affidavit of support, should I check 1 for my dad?

2. Part 6, number 6, should I include my father? If so, should I check off number 10?

Thank you for all the help. I hate to sound annoying, but I want to resolve this as soon as possible...
