Hi, we will be married soon and then have to file AOS.

We are a little confused with the total fees required for myself,(K1) and my K2ers. Is it $1,070 for all three of us or $1,070 per applicant.

I ask this as with the K1 visa fee I was told we needed to file for each applicant, so paperwork was prepared separately for all 3 of us. When we went for our interview at the Embassy in Jamaica, however, we only paid 240 total ( i think) and we all got our visas. At the time i was expecting to pay for all 3.

Please can someone clarify for me...Thanks

The filing fees are per person, with exceptions noted. See the USCIS link for specifics: http://www.uscis.gov/i-485 It is a good idea to concurrently file for the EAD and AP, there is no additional charge.

Get out your checkbook, AOS filing is not cheap!

The $240 fee was also individual... I filed 1 k1 and 2 k2 and I had to pay for all 3 at the embassy...as for the k2 if the children are 13 or under it $570 I believe for them if they are 14 or older its $1070 each.

Hi,

The fee for you is $1070, the fees for each child 13 or younger is $635. In order to pay this amount for the children they have to be 13 or younger and their applications MUST be submitted with yours in the same envelope. If they are submitted separately, you will have to pay the full application fee, plus/minus biometrics, depending on the age. How old are your children?

Sorry for the delay in responding, both children are over age 13, so I guess that means 1,070 times 3 = 3,210.00....sigh

Well I guess i was lucky at the K1 stage as I only paid $240 total...so an advance of $480 towards the AOS.

Thanks guys

Well considering that you have to pay the full fee for them anyway, you can submit your AOS first and submit the ones for the children when you have the fees for theirs. It's $1070 for each of you, a total of $3210.

Just make sure you submit the AOS within one year of when they had the medical so that you won't have to do that again. Otherwise if you have the $3k now, then you can submit it all of them in one package.

Be sure to get the EAD/AP for the children as well, it's good to have and it's included in the price anyway so it's good to take advantage of it.
