Report of Marriage in Los Angeles Philippine Consulate

Hi,

To those who did the Report of Marriage in the Philippine Consulate located in Los Angeles, one of the requirements was:

Four (4) identical colored photographs of the husband and the wife, 1.77 in x 1.37 in, plain white background, taken within six months before the date of application.

Where did you have your photos taken for the passport sized photos with white background for both husband and wife? Will they take it inside the Consulate or is there a Walgreens/CVS/Walmart photo center type that you had the pictures taken? Feel free to comment here. Thanks for your time!

Regards,

Monet

I was wondering about this as well. And are they two separate photos, one of husband, and one of wife, or is it a photo of husband and wife together? I am slightly confused about that...

Go to Walmart and get your passport photos that you need. That is where we go for passport photos

Okay, got it. Although do they do international passport photos? The requirements are different than the passport photos Walmart usually takes which is always 2x2. I'll ask them too. Thank you for the reply!

You can have them taken anywhere. Just have several copies. For some reason they always want more and they all have to be the exact pose, background, etc. I did mine at CVS. It was inexpensive and fast. Good luck and God Bless.

Hi,

I believe it's 2 separate photos for husband and wife. So 8 photos total, 4 for the wife and 4 for the husband. :)

Hi,

Were your photos 2x2 in size? Or did CVS give you 1.77 in x 1.37 in for each photo? I just want to make sure since most of the passport photos they do in photo centers are 2x2 in size while the requirement for the Report of Marriage is 1.77 in x 1.37 in with white background as stated in the Los Angeles Philippine Consulate website. Thanks for the reply!

Thanks. I was leaning towards that, but wanted to make sure. :)

Haha Hank you are correct, but I will never assume anything when dealing with the Philippine Consulate :) And they don't actually say "passport style". I just checked :)

Yeah, they didn't specifically mention passport style photos but the measurements they gave are the same as the Philippine passport photo size which is 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm (same as 1.77 in x 1.37 in). I was thinking of maybe just uploading my photos at http://www.epassportphoto.com and then get a lot of copies for a cheaper price than going to an actual photo center. Although, there's a chance that the Philippine Consulate won't accept it if it doesn't meet their requirements. -_-

Here is the link for the State Department location that gives you all the details. You will see that the photo overall is 2" by 2". Just make sure when you go to CVS you tell them the photo is for a PASSPORT. You should be fine. http://travel.state.gov/content/passports/english/passports/photos/photo-composition-template.html

We are talking Philippines government requirements, not DOS, this is for Report of Marriage to the Philippines.

Whoops! I stand corrected. I thought all the photos were the same size. But of course as I know the Philippines, they have all of their own ridiculous requirements. Have you ever noticed that their relular size and legal size paper is different in size than ours? Metric, I guess...
