Hi, I got a bad news from medical centre last friday, saying that they found some shadow on the xray, which they need me to do the sputum test, this means I have to wait 11 weeks to get the result.

I bought the film and went to the specialists, he said that the shadow was from childhood and doesnt have any problem, based on his experience, its not active TB and thus not effect the visa approval ... however, based on the US govt, any shadow found needs to do the sputum test without fail.

Anyway, I am going to do from this wed to fri morning, 3 times test... have to apply off for 3 morning , no pay from my work... , my concern is my interview will be next Wed., should I go for interview? If I go, can I tell them not keep my passport? As I will have to go for a short trip to Souel mid Nov., but that time my sputum test shouldnt be ready yet... I am afraid that thwy will take my passport and keep it till mid Jan 2015, it seems doesnt make sence, but I am afraid that will happen? Does anyone here has experience??

This Oct is totally crazy for me ... every week has something new for my K1 visa ...

Thank you in advance for all the help!!

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Sorry to hear that but no worry as it's just a matter of procedure and extra tests that they have to follow.

In regards to the passport, they will not keep it until you provided them all your medical record when it's ready.

In fact, they will give you a "blue slip" which states that there are some missing documents needed.

Hope this help.
