Foreign beneficiary signature on G-325A still optional?

According to the attached memo, a signature is not required by the foreign beneficiary on the G-325A form. However, this USCIS memo dates from 2005. The last mention of it I could find searching the forums is from 2009.

Can anyone confirm whether this rule is still in effect? I ask because of an error we made in our application triggering an RFE on the form - I would much rather just send in a corrected version immediately rather than waiting about a week to get my fiance to send a version with her actual signature.

If I were you, I won't take the risk. Send the original one. I sent my then-fiance (my now husband) all docs and it only took 5 days with snail mail and used Indonesian post office that connected to USPS. Bear in mind that Indonesia is far away from the US compared to Ukraine let alone Indonesian post office is not reliable all the time. If you are worried about get lost then use the service from FedEx or UPS.

When me and my fiancé filed in January, I forgot to sign the G-325a before I left to come back to England.

I read that he could sign it and so he did, we didn't get an RFE.

You need an original signature on the Letter of Intent from the Beneficiary, so they can send the signed G325A at the same time.

Yes, it is true. You are not required to have a signature on the G-325A for the I-129F petition. You can put 'Beneficiary will sign at interview', and it should be accepted that way.

I'm not going to take the risk after thinking more about it. First of all, I don't want to assume every adjudicator has seen that almost 10 year old memo. And second, even if they have, it may no longer be in effect.

Additionally, this is the wording on the RFE (underlined and highlighted by USCIS):

"Form G325-A: The petitioner submitted the completed and signed Form G325A for the petitioner and the beneficiary. However, please submit a properly completed and signed Form G-325A for the petitioner, X, and the beneficiary, Y. The form can be obtained online by visiting: http://www.uscis.gov/files/g-325a.pdf"

This may be automatically generated text, but the request is for a signed form.
