How's everyone doing?

I personally have come down hard from the excitement of receiving our NOA1 - and it's been a rough couple of worry-filled weeks for me!

Reading the stories here about denials at the embassy have been the most earth-shattering, because of which I've flashing forward to some very sad thoughts about how this could not end up in our favor. I hate that I'm putting myself through all of this unnecessary stress, and I can't imagine how I'll get through 6+ more months of these feelings!

Of course, my fiancé has been relentlessly positive - which is so wonderful - but I also worry that my anxiety will rub off on him and bring him down, too!

I've joined a gym and I go now 5 times a week - it's been a great release not 100% helpful. Searching for flights to visit my him at Christmastime and thoughts of two weeks with him soon are very nice, but still, when I have any downtime my thoughts are filled with worry.

Any advice on how to keep cool and stay positive while we wait?

Tai

What I did besides work was that I looked for interesting shows/series to watch which made me forget about time. Also find out the requirements for your interview and start gathering the documents you may need. And spend as much time with your family as possible. A few months will fly by real fast. I know you're excited to be with your partner again, but don't forget you have friends and family that you will leave behind and wont see for a while. So catch up with them and create lasting memories :)

I'm lucky because I have a very demanding job and my kids keep me busy.....then I have my family and friends. so just do your best to stay busy and not focus on it. The best thing I did was force myself not to check any status for a week. Now there are days that go by and I don't even think to check! I used to read all those horror stories online about visa fraud, denials, delays, lawyers, and waivers. After getting my fill of negativity, I decided to listen to my fiance's endless positivity. Its so much more fun! I don't believe God /Jah would've brought us 1,500 miles to form this huge connection/bond and then tear us apart. My heart just won't let me. So take it one step/one day at a time. When I have free time, I talk with other VJers, look at wedding dresses, make lists of things and places to do that he has never experienced before, shop, clean, organize...anything to prepare for his arrival. Sure I have melt downs, I'm sure we all do at some point. Again his endless positivity and loving attitude always brings me through.

Anytime you need to vent or talk, feel free to PM me. I see both our fiance's are Jamaican. I found so much reassurance and help from other woman like us!
