Petitioner and Beneficiary moved to a different country

I applied for the CR-1 visa for my husband a few months ago. My husband is Ghanaian and thanks to my job we were living together in Nigeria when I first sent in the paperwork. I am about to send in the additional evidence that was requested but since I sent in the application, my job has moved us again, to Uganda. I want to make it clear to them that we are living together overseas because I have read the thread here that when the USC petitioner is living overseas, the process is sometimes expedited but I also do not trust the mail system here to deliver at all, let alone on time. What is the best way for me to indicate that:

1. We have both moved to Uganda so any future interviews should be here

2. I still want to receive mail at my permanent address in the US for the sake of quick communication.

Thanks!

USCIS won't change your address abroad.

Contact the NVC when your petition is approved and arrives at them to make sure your husband receives a case number that is specific for Uganda instead of anywhere else.

Is your husband a citizen or permanent resident of Uganda? If not he will not be interviewing there. It will be in Ghana.

And you put your address abroad when you filled no need to keep updating letting them know you are abroad they already know that.

1. We have both moved to Uganda so any future interviews should be here - Nope it will be in Ghana. It's not where you live you get interview its country of residency you get your interview. If its Uganda you need to notify USCIS now and they will need proof he is a resident of Uganda

2. I still want to receive mail at my permanent address in the US for the sake of quick communication. - So you have your address where you live abroad and your mailing address in US. Cool

Dwheels - the USCIS doesn't do anything with the beneficiary so why would they need to know that the beneficiary is in Uganda? It's the NVC that needs to know when the case gets there along with the proof he's a resident and can interview there. ;)

If he is a resident to Uganda and that's where they want to interview to stop a longgggggg delay you notify USCIS. That's where the assignment of Embassy/Consulate comes from where you file out that field.

Waiting until its at NVC which means you are already assigned a wrong case# to the wrong embassy well could cost them months of delays.

If your relative is not eligible for adjustment of status, he or she will apply for a visa abroad at the American consular post in City and state.

This is what NVC goes by. Just trying to save them alot of wasted time.
