I'm working on my husband's AOS. He arrived with his K1 Visa in January and we got married in February. When I applied for his visa, I had 4 of my kids living here and were dependents. Now my oldest sons (19 and 20) both have their own income. My daughter who will be 18 in a month moved out in January. She didn't like moms rules and thought it was ok to drinlk and so things that I do not approve of so she went to live with her aunt. When I file my 2014 taxed, I intend to only claim her until; August. When I send in the package for the green card, if I claimed all 4 as dependents on my 2013 tax return and only claim one as a dependent for the Green card. Since they were dependents in 2013 so I have to claim them since those tax forms are the ones I am sending.

2013 is still the most recent tax return. All minor children and anyone you claimed on your most recent tax return will be counted in your household size. If you file now, all of them are counted. If you file after filing your 2014 taxes, then just the daughter you will claim will be counted.
