Nigerian Embassy - Lagos

Hello everyone,

So our K1 application for fiancé visa was recently approved and the file should now be making it's way to NVC for additional processing prior to being sent to the Nigerian Embassy. Now I'm working on getting my portion of the paperwork together to send to my fiancé. I have several questions and was hoping someone who is familiar with the Nigerian embassy and the process can help me out...

Is it true that Lagos is the only embassy in Nigeria that processes the K1 visa? My fiancé lives in Abuja so was hoping they changed the rules recently ;)

Is there an additional fee he has to pay prior to the interview (outside of the medical fee)? I'm seeing varying information about an additional visa fee so want to get clarification on this.

Will he be the one to schedule the interview, or will the consulate schedule it after the fee (if required) and application is received? On average, how far out are the interview dates?

Are the only medical doctors authorized to do the exam in Lagos, or are there some in Abuja he can go to?

Thank you in advance! :)

It usually takes 2 weeks to about 30 days for your I-129F petition to get to NVC for case# and off to embassy you go.

I would call NVC in 2 weeks hopefully they have case# assigned.

Once you have case# your finace' can go to GTB Bank and pay the Visa fee which has gone up since the 12th,

With that receipt he can log on or you no matter and schedule his interview.

Go to the embassy website and download all the forms you need to have complete for interview.

For medical and other information here is the information page for Lagos. Only Lagos's does K1 interviews.
