Things like the police certificate will not be needed until the NVC stage. Therefore, you can check what docs will be needed at the NVC stage so that you can get an idea of what you will need at that point.

I have a question... what is the NVC stage????

You're doing AOS so this wouldn't apply to you. The NVC process is for people who will apply for an immigrant visa outside of the US. They collect some of the docs that you had to send like MC, BC, police records, affidavit of support, etc.

I have a question... what is the NVC stage????

This does not constitute legal advice.

@marriedguy

I put pictures since they ask for bonafide of marriage...maybe around 20 with descriptions of when and where it was....with family members.... our bank account together....

I will bringing more to the interview but since we just got married at the end of July I'm not in any bills or anything specially because I don't have a SSN I can't drive to have a car insurance of those things so pictures were the best I could provide

You would be able to get an SSN when you get your EAD/AP document. Then you will be able to get a DL, a joint bank account, joint bills, etc. By the time you have your interview, you should have enough docs to prove the bona fides. You want to try and get as many joint accounts as you can like joint car insurance, joint lease or mortgage, joint car, joint credit/bank accounts, joint health insurance or listed as a beneficiary for each other, etc. These will all help make a strong case and will help you accumulate enough proof for when you do ROC. Good luck.

Yes! Thanks for writing we plan on doing that once I can work and drive we will have insurances together, bills.. and a phone plan together :)

I don't even have a phone number for myself right now I use my husbands always.

So for the future maybe for when they call us for the interview we can bring all the new evidence and also for ROC of course

Ok thanks I understand. I got confused because I saw he was talking about I-130 and I had no idea what NVC was or what I was missing :)

You're welcome. By the way, if you need a cellphone now, you don't need an SSN to get one. You can get a gophone plan on AT&T or some other prepaid plan with Verizon or T-Mobile. I have the $45 plan from AT&T and it's great. It comes with unlimited talk, text, and 1Gb of data. And they don't ask you for an SSN, EAD, or check your credit. Then when you get your EAD and SSN you can transfer your number to your husband's account and get a family plan and keep your number.

Oh thanks for the info!!!!

I haven't need one yet because I'm usually all the time with my husband and then at home I use my iphone from Spain with wifi and all family members in both countries have iphone so I can text them for free with wifi :)

But next month my husband has to travel because of his job and we were actually looking at phone lines in case of emergency so I have a phone to contact. But they always ask credit history or documentation I don't have yet......

That thing you mention about AT&T sounds very good I'm going to tell him about it, could be a good choice for now! Thanks so much I really appreciate it :)

Can you put the SIM card in any phone??? My iphone is unlocked from Apple store so it could be perfect

That's great. As long as your phone is unlocked you can just walk into any AT&T store and tell them your iPhone is unlocked and that you want a gophone plan. They will set you up right away. They will only ask you for your name and maybe id which you can just use your passport, no SSN or anything like that.

Now the $45 plan is only available over the phone or in Walmart, I believem so you can try going to Walmart first. If not you may have to add a different plan and then change it. You can get the $60 plan which gives you 2.5Gb of data.

It's for the IR1/CR1 visa type. You wouldn't do it as you're adjusting your status.
