How do I actually/realistically contact the NVC? Phone has been constantly busy for days

Hi all,

This is my first post although I have been on VJ since June. I am the beneficiary in the K1 visa process and a March filer through the TSC. On August 22, we received NOA2 and as of last week I have been trying to call the NVC (several times every day); only receiving a busy signal. I see people mentioning they got their case numbers, how can I do the same?

Any advice appreciated. My embassy is in Port of Spain, low volume embassy for K1 visas so was hoping for quick news.

Thanks!

It does take about 10-15 minutes to contact NVC representative. Keep on trying. By the way, my i-129f was approved a moth ago and it is still not recieved by NVC, so I don't have the case number.

They open at 7 am est.. I start calling at 6:58am est.. and then wait until the machine picks up.. hang up and redial. Each time I've called I've gotten in at 7:07am mere minutes.. usually without a wait time.. Good luck !

what I do is keep redialing until I get the voice "Thank you for calling the national visa center"

ive never gottn through on the first try, you need to hit redial over and over. the second you hear the busy signal press the hangup button then quickly redial

takes a minute or 2 usually

I called at 7:18am EST. I did get through after like 30-35 minutes wait time. I've heard early morning opening time or late closing time is the best to get a hold of someone at NVC.

Same thing happened to us. We were calling late at night and it was useless so we tried early in the morning. We called once around 7:30am and they answered after we were on hold for half an hour. We were lucky, the representative was really nice and helpful.

When I was at that stage, I never got through to NVC either. The only time I did, I was on hold for over an hour.

Our dear VJ friends told me to call DOS instead to get my case number. DOS is easier to call, and it worked perfectly. It's been a while since I did this so I'm not sure if these are still the numbers:

1-202-663-1225

1-202-485-7600 prompt 1 then 0

Thanks for all the advice folks. Still not had any luck and been trying for hours every day. I will try the DOS number tomorrow and see how that goes!

Budget-wise get skype credits and call through skype as it costs much less than the actual phone cost.....because the average hold time will be between 45 mins to a hour or up with several attempts

and for the emailing route , it takes more than 20 days....( for my case it was 25 days though most members reported that they have never got any response back for emailing )
