Is anyone experiencing additional processing time at NVC? My case was recived and case number issued Aug 15th but is held for additional processing. After waiting 6 months for NOA 2, K1 visa approval, I really expected to go just through NVC and on to the Kiev embassy.

Apparently they're being swamped with work.

I know right. I had congressional liaison's office contact NVC concerning K1 procesing. Only thing that he was able to get is that all K1 visas are being handled expeditiously and that they are going through normal required procesing.

I just called and was told my case was inputted into the system yesterday and is undergoing administrative processing, which can take 2-4 weeks to process. I'm hoping this is just part of their script for when people inquire about their case status and it's not yet been sent to the embassy. I have a serious knee-jerk reaction to hearing anything about AP, especially after waiting so long for NOA2. When she said it was in AP, I asked if it was normal, and she said yes. And she seemed very polite and helpful.

However, she also spelled my fiance's surname wrong. Apparently it was missing a letter in the system, so I corrected her and told her that it was spelled correctly on the approval notice I received from USCIS and she seemed to indicate that she corrected it. And that makes me wonder if that's why it's now in AP? I know I'm paranoid because I want to see my fiance ASAP, but I'm hoping being in AP at NVC isn't that big of a deal. :(

Anyone know if I can call on Saturdays? Or just weekdays?

My case was sent on Aug 20. I'm hoping they may have received it by now.

Their call center hours are M - F 7 AM - Midnight EST.

Just so you get an idea, I've called twice this week and gotten through. Both times were after 9pm Eastern. I had to redial a dozen times to get through, and after that was on hold for an hour. This happened for both calls.

The first rep was super helpful and happy, the second was polite but bored sounding. They received my case on the 27th and I got the same scripted line about AP, so I'm hoping it just goes through quickly, though I figure there will be even more delay due to the holiday (we all know things slow as folks readjust to school schedules and traffic this time of year).

Yeah, I generally called either around 7 AM or 10:30 PM. The longest I had to hold was about 40 minutes and everyone was very helpful. And I can definitely confirm that saying it's AP is just a part of what the representatives are told to say if the case has been processed but not yet shipped to the consulate. My case was received on the 26th, processed on the 27th and sent out today. So it's definitely no big deal. I'd say yours will more than likely be sent off on Tuesday. Apparently the K-1 cases are being expedited through NVC at the moment.

I think I'm going to have a full head of grey hair before I'm 23 by the time this process is over. Hahaha.
