Hello everybody.

I hope you can help me.

In december, my fiance is going start the K1 visa process for me. I live in Argentina, and he lives in Wisconsin.

I would like to go visit him in april for 2 weeks for vacations.

What i want to know is, how to ask for the tourist visa.

I dont know whether i should say that im going to visit my fiance and tell them that i have the K1 visa in process (and show the documents) or just apply as a tourist without saying anything.

Also, what if i apply as a simple tourist and I get the visa denied, will it be a problem with my K1 visa?

Thanks for ur help.

You need to tell the truth about him when applying for the tourist visa, otherwise you risk to face some ban from entering the US due misrepresentation when attending your K1 interview.

If it's possible, another option to consider is to file for K1 now,

and if all goes well, you could get K1 visa by late spring or early summer.

You simply apply by using the embassy web site. If asked you tell the truth about the K 1 explaining that you want to visit only and will return to your country to await the process of the K 1. You will need to prove why you must return so think over exactly what would compel you to need to return. There must be no doubt that you will do so or you will be denied. Should you be denied that action will have no affect on your K 1.

The only thing you risk is the $165 tourist visa application fee and your time to go to the US Embassy for the interview. If denied you just put that fact done on the forms for the K-1 visa you submit for the interview.

Good luck,

Dave

Do you already have a tourist visa? Then you can visit with a K-1 filed.

No, i dont have, i want to aplly for it. Im afraid if i dont get it, it could give me any problem with my k1 visa

Being denied wont affect U getting K1. however not often will a

tourist visa be issued while a petition is pending, always be upfront

with uscis & remember everything U tell them as its kept on record

its not easy to obtain B1/2 with immigrant intent

As long it wont affect getting the K1 its ok.

U say that i should say that im asking for the k1 visa too.

If it's possible, another option to consider is to file for K1 now,

and if all goes well, you could get K1 visa by late spring or early summer.

He cant. Because he got divorced in june, and he has to wait 6 months until he can be free to marry. hes from wisconsin
