CAN I FIRE MY LAWYER AND STILL INFORM HIM OR NO NEED?

Hello VJ Family! I and my wife no longer want the service of our lawyers anymore and we are almost at the end of our case, the checklist that we got from the NVC was they needed the original of the following documents POLICE CERTIFICATE, BIRTH CERTIFICATE, MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE, but I want to know if it is necessary to inform them about moving on by ourself or just move on? Thanks for the advice in advance.

I would call and let them know their services aren't needed anymore.

Yeah call them- if you don't, they may prepare paperwork and bill you for it.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Okay first before you run and fire lawyer. Do you have all your original documents from the lawyers?

And what is it with these lawyers who won;t or don;t realize that originals have to be filed but will just send copies. OMG what in the world.

Be sure before you fire lawyer call NVC tell them you fired lawyer or remove them and have petitioner and beneficiaries email listed and not the lawyers. Then make the call to the lawyers.

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal
