I sent a response to an RFE regarding a pending I-485 AOS from a K1 a week ago last Wednesday. Confirmed delivery Friday, August 15th. The letter from the USCIS was dated 8/1 with 30 days to respond.

I checked the USCIS website and nothing has been updated from "On July 23rd we mailed a notice requesting..."

I realize a week isn't long but considering we have 30 days to respond, I'd obviously like to confirm that USCIS knows we've responded.

I'm assuming that we'll see an update on the website when the RFE makes into the file? What are my options if we fail to see any confirmation prior to the 30 days expiring? Anything beyond calling the Hotline and asking?

Wow...no one has responded to this simple question?

I have not experience RFE yet, so I couldn't really comment on this.

Can someone with RFE experience answer this post?

That said, RFE is common way to collect updates, so I'm sure all will be good,

but if you want to be sure, perhaps give them a call after 2 weeks,

just to confirm if they have received it.

Thought not often, I think have read 2 cases on VJ site where they got rejected because

RFE response somehow "got lost" in transition, and the petitioner didn't

know anything about it until they were denied.

check my timeline and u'll see how fast they update web site........60 days since I sent rfe and web site still say "we mailed u a rfe".... so be ready to wait in case of something... and good luck!!

and about calling USCIS 2 weeks after they recieved rfe is worthless because they do not make any update over the phone, all they say wait until 60 days after rfe was delievered.......

Thanks everyone. Yeah, seems odd that I have to take on faith that they will update the case file with my response...all while being at risk of a denial if somehow my response is misplaced.

Especially considering they are asked for information in the RFE that they already asked for twice previously in the K1 process...indicating they already have lost/misplaced information.
