So did my interview at the embassy in Kingston Jamaica on August 8th and approved. Given a slip to pick-up on the 14th so I could travel with hubby on the 17th. The CO said that DHL would take too long so I should pick it up instead. Went back on the specified date, Thursday the 14th and was told that my name wasn't on the list but I could go through. I was called to the window and waited nearly 5 minutes at the window while they searched stacks of passports, pulled away the desk and up to 3 persons looking through passport stacks. They called the CO who approved me who came looked out on me and then they had some discussion. The lady called me back and said they would have to call me. 3 business days later and still no call.

The funny thing is on his way back on Sunday the customs officer asked him the reason for visiting Jamaica and he told him he had expected to come back with me. He explained what happened and the officer told him to follow it up as they sometimes lose passports? WTH? The officer also told him that with an expedite case the visa is normally issued within the stated times so we should stay on top of it.

This morning he called DOS and the officer there told him in case that was what happened (it is not customary for them to tell you to come and it is not ready he said) I might have to get a new passport. Say what?

Hubby has emailed Kingston and we are now awaiting their response.17 months and counting sigh.....

Funny thing is as I was waiting a lady behind me was picking up her visa. She had her interview the first week in April and was ONLY called the morning on August 14th. She was told she had to travel before midnight of August 15th as her medical would expire on August 16th. So at 2.45pm she was in the embassy waiting on her and her son's passport to be able to travel the next day. SMH

This embassy just scares me. From the stories I hear everything seems like such an ordeal. I've dealt with it in the airports, police station, etc. I hope things work out quickly and smoothly...for all of us.

The status was stuck in ready for 3.5 weeks then went to AP for 1day and then issued. We did send two emails during the process to which they ignored the first and gave a standard answer for the second. I did notice however that case did not start getting updated until after the second email .

So finally hubby here I come!
