Ok we finally got an update on my husbands case and today they approved the EAD and travel doc, but still no word on AOS.

Isnt the green card and EAD on the same card? A little confused and Im here at work with barely enough time to post this. Any answers or advice.

Thanks

Renee

No, the EAD is not the Greencard.

They are different applications, remember? I-485, I-765, I-131?

The EAD and AP are stop gap measures for the time when the GC is pending.

The GC will give the right to work and travel by itself, and render the EAD useless.

We've discussed the EAD before, so I am rather surprised we were speaking and not communicating at all, as it were.

AOS for my husband

I got my AP/EAD card a week before my interview, gave it back at the interview, and got my GC a week later.

@ Harpa,

Sorry I kept hearing about a Combo card and was just not thinking. I guess the happiness I felt kinda put me in a BLOND moment (no offense to any blondes)

Just glad that we got it approved, now I hope that they corrected my mistake on the EAD code. I will just keep an eye out and go from there.

Feeling some relief right about now and I know that he is too. Thank you Harpa for every thing you have done and commented about cause I really respect your words and thoughts. People like you make this process so much easier and understanding.

Combo card means EAD and AP on one card. It used to be that the EAD was on a card and the AP was on a piece of paper. Good luck.

Well he is supposed to start working on Monday. The day after we got word that he was approved he got called by a company to come and work. This morning I got a text message saying that the card was mailed. I do hope that this will not cause him a delay in working. They are very interested in him and if push come to shove Im sure that they will wait for his card if needed - I will have to check into this. I told him to let them know that we have applied and been approved and are waiting on the card. Im sure things will work out.

Hes waited 6 months and 4 days to work again and I know he is a patient man but he really wants to start bringing in his income. Hes not the kind of man that likes relying on a woman. Im hoping that this card gets here ASAP !

@ Janet&adonis

The RFE was because they wanted my tax transcript, bank statements, letter from work , just all my financial stuff. I gave it to them.

His combo card is in route to the house now. He starts work in 15 min. His day started off bad but hopefully it will end well.
