K1 JFK POE USC Line w/ self serve kiosks

Has anyone came through JFK as POE with their USC since JFK implemented the self serve kiosks (somewhat new) in the USC/LPR line? I read the JFK reviews but no one mentions this. There were several reviews about going through the line with your USC but none mentioning this detail. I don't know if she'll just stand there with me as the non-USC line doesn't have these kiosks or if she should also use one of them. My guess is the first. Thanks in advance!

When I went through Miami recently (who has also implemented the kiosks) I was told I cannot use the kiosks when I bring him with me and that we must BOTH go to the Visitors line or be separated at entry. I asked another officer on my way through Customs and they said the same thing... Maybe call the airport or CBP....

I recall reading posts on VJ site about couples having successful POE through either USC and Foreigner lines,

but at the same time, I've read many posts on how they were instructed to be in certain line,

so this could vary by airport and who you are dealing with at the time.

Highly doubtful they would let an intending immigrant use self-serve kiosks. There would be nowhere to put your packet. Your file needs to be processed by a living person. And wouldn't you rather physically hand it over to someone rather than dump it in a slot or box somewhere?

If you are lucky, you can join the USC line with your intended. If you're not lucky, you'll have to join the Visitors line with/without your intended.

If this is your fiance's point of entry WITH a K1 visa, you need to go to a non-self serve kiosk, where there is an immigration officer due to the packet that they have to give them and they will go through and the various questions that they will ask you.

Well even though it's self service you still pass by the desk for CBP to look over your printout before you exit into the baggage area. However my guy gut instinct is we'll both be waiting in the foreign visitor line. Thanks everyone!

BTW I was secretly hoping after I completed the self service part they'd just wisk us into a side room, ask their questions and let us go on our way without having to wait in the other line. (Wishful thinking)

Just wanted to provide an update to the process at JFK as it was super quick and painless. I asked a CBP officer what to do upon entering the CBP area and he took her immediately to the room off to the side for processing. I went through the USC kiosk line and was then allowed to join her in the waiting room. They reviewed her paperwork, stamped her passport, we retrieved our luggage, and grabbed a cab in well under 30 min of landing.

They have kiosks in Boston and my husband and I were told to go through the GC line or be separated.
