Hi everyone,

I'm new here. My fiancee I have met 3 years ago as friends while she was in the USA on a temporary visa. We since then found each other online again and developed a relationship. I visited her in Russia recently and we dated. So far so good right?

Well, while we were communicating on the internet, she first lived in Ukraine in the Lugansk region. For those following the latest news, Lugansk turned into a warzone, and Ukraine is fighting with them. My fiancee fled to Moscow so that she won't be killed. But when she went into Russia, she chose not to be a "refugee" because they told her that would take 2 years to process.

So she chose a 90 day temporary Russian visa. Right now it's been 1.5 months in.

My question to you guys: I want to file a fiancee visa because I just came back from visiting making it "bona fide". But she is not a resident of Russia, she is Ukrainian but she lives in Russia. Will that complicate things?

Another complication: she refuses to go back to her home country of Ukraine. She even left her Ukrainian birth certificate at her old home (although she has her USSR birth certificate).

Anyone have any similar situations of applying for a k1 fiancee visa and the bride doesn't reside in her birth country (and doesn't really have any status in the present country)?
