Filed in Ohio but in Pennsylvania now. Worried about missing biometrics.

I sent off all 3 AoS/AP/EAD for the K-1 visa on the 21st July. I'm in Pennsylvania while my wife has our baby here. We permanently live in Ohio. Just worried about missing the biometrics since our mail forwarding seems to take ages. Saw a letter sent from Texas (a bill for something different) 7th July and it got to us 2 days ago.

Is there any way to check? I don't plan to return to Ohio until the 17th of August. Can biometrics be rearranged? And is there anyway to find out before you receive the letter? Will there be an update on the USCIS status check website to show the biometrics interview date has been set?

They will NOT forward your mail. The pot office will not forward immigration mail.

You need to change your address properly with USCIS.

8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

I would defintliy not recommend changing addresses like that. Just my .02

Reason behind me saying this, is because you are bound to have an appointment at the place you are currently not residing at due to the difficulty of sending your packet back and forth.

I would see if someone could check your mail and then send you the appointment letter to you in PA.

The mail is already forwarded so not likely anybody can check his mail. The letter will go back to USCIS and if the status thing is working correctly, then it will say something about we mailed you something and it was returned.

I have known of people walking in a different ASC (biometric place) while on vacation, with their letter and being served there. I have read of people walking in an ASC without their letter because of some issue and the staff were able to generate a barcode letter and do the biometrics right then. So maybe once you have evidence of a returned letter, you could walk in the PA center and say "Could you please help me?" Tell your tale and if they are really nice, maybe they will take your biometrics. Worst case, they say "no" and you carry on calling USCIS, changing addresses, waiting for a new appointment that will go to PA after you are back in OH. Might be worth a try if you are good at sad faces and playing the pregnant wife card.
