Hello VJers,

We are getting ready to submit the AOS application with all its contents to Chicago Lockbox and the instructions on the guides suggests:

"Use ACCO fasteners to hold together thick or bulky applications or petitions. Two-hole punching the top of the material for easy placement in the file is appreciated. Exception: Petitions filed at the Chicago lockbox should use paperclips when attaching supporting personal documents to forms instead of “ACCO” fasteners; staples are acceptable when attaching fees."

I was getting ready to start punching holes and use ACCO fasteners and read this, I'm thinking about using a paper clip to hold the documents together, however I am worried that the documents will come loose in the envelope.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I used big paper clips. If you worried to come loose, I suggested you to put big paper clips on the top and on the side of papers. That was I did.

I used paperclips too in binding the forms that need to go together and then just slid them all in an envelope.

You can also use a bigger paperclip or binder clip to keep everything intact inside the packet.

I used paperclips on things, then a binder clip to hold it all together. No problems.

No ACCO.

What does it matter if the papers come loose in the envelope? Put a rubber band around it of you want to keep the order. There isn't enough room on there for them to get out of order anyway.

Once they get the package they will put them in their own folders in their own way. You don't think they keep people's Lisa Frank folders, do you? :)

Put them in order in the envelope the way you want. No matter what you did, they will look at the cover letter and check them and organize them in their own way. I put mine in plastic pocket and they are lose without any paperclips or binding or anything. They got lose but the envelope of USPS hold them together. They got them and I got my NOA. IT DOESNT MATTER.

Good luck :)
