The OP thought it was a red flag. He want to know what to say about it. I don't believe this has a specific answer to it other than one's subjective opinion. It is what the OP feel that should be the answer in his case. Just be honest about everything at your interview.

There is really nothing you can say to explain it. Having some kind of canned answer is going to sound rehearsed, which could be a further issue in itself.

Be honest, and answer questions as they are asked. I'm of the opinion that age is just a number, up to a point.

I am 11 years older than my fiance (I am female). It never came up at the interview at all, but I know I also worried about it. I do think it a bigger deal in other cultures, and that might make it a flag.

If asked, in my situation, the truth was that we met online, and since it wasn't a dating site, I didn't know his age or even where he lived until we'd been talking for a while...by that time, it was too late. We were hooked :-)

My only advice is to be honest...does the age matter to you? does it matter to your family and friends? If not, why? Those are the questions you would need to be able to answer.

it's not a problems but you need strong proof about this Relationship with her coz the Counslar Officer will suspect about this Relationship

It can be a red flag for Lagos if the woman is the petitioner but it's overcome with lots of proof of a genuine relationship, especially a great deal of quality time spent together.

In certain countries, it is a red flag, and can be a red flag during AOS/ROC process. Just tell the truth about your relationship, how you met, fell in love, amd age was not a factor in your relationship, and that you have known she was older from day one and it was no secret.

It is usually a red flag in Nigeria especially if you have no children, are the oldest son and she is too old to have children. That being said we had all 3 of those issues and that wasn't mentioned other than 1 question.

When they ask you that question they already know what words you're going to use. What they're really looking for is your facial expressions and body language while you answer it. You have to look like you mean it.
