I'm having that sinking feeling that we have not applied correctly. Child was documented on 129f, we are currently waiting for NO2. I just now seen a item that says child requires a separate visa application and each applicant must pay separate k visa application fee.

Should we have initially filed extra paperwork and paid this fee on application.

Confused and worried we may need to start again in texas.

No, you don't need to start again. The I129f is NOT a visa application, it's a petition.

Here in the UK I had to complete 2 DS160s - one for me and one for my son. And I'll have to pay 2 x $240 K visa fees. I'm assuming it will be similar/identical in NZ.

This is what they mean by separate visa applicatioons, nothing to do with the I129f as long as the child was on that form. Stop worrying!

For what it's worth, when I checked my CEAC I had two cases on there, one's mine and one is my sons. The numbers are identical apart from the last digit :)

No, children of USC fiancés are derivatives. They do not need their own petition but they do have to be mentioned on the I-129F. You are not at the visa stage yet, only on the petition stage. Spend some time going through the guides and wiki's. :)

Once you get to the visa stage (after noa2) both k1 and k2 will need medical exams, ds160's, and visa fees. Depending on k2's age, he or she may or may not need to be at the interview. Check bassy info for that. As bunny girl said, you will see 2 separate numbers on ceac. :)

Check *embassy. Sorry for typo! :-/

Thank you it's great to know we have done everything correct so far and we are on the correct track. We immigrated to nz , the paperwork was all submitted in the beginning, this us system is def a whole lot more complicated. Thanks for taking the time out to advise :-)
