Hello everyone :)

We got notification about the acceptance of I-485 and Chicago IL center has transferred the case to Nebraska Service Center. I have been trying to find timelines for this center for processing I-485 from K-1 visa. All the information I have found online that this center is not handling I-485 for K-1 visa. They cashed the $1070 and both I-485 and the I-765 still in the acceptance phase online. I still did not receive any mails from them.

Has anyone case here (K-1 visa holders) been transferred to Nebraska Service Center? Has anyone got the approval and what is the estimated timeline. I can not find any information about this center for those who are holding K-1 Visa.

Here is the message I have received.

On July 10, 2014, your fingerprint fee was accepted and we have mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. Your case is being processed at our NEBRASKA SERVICE CENTER location. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

Thanks for sharing your experience in advance

Good luck for everyone :)

~Moved from Fam.-based AOS Process to Fam.-based AOS Progress Forum~

~Inquiry about case status~

(organizer hat off)

Not uncommon. There are really no estimated timelines for Family-based AOS, some folks' files are sent to the local USCIS office for processing and interview, others are processed at a service center and no interview. You will find a lot more information at the Family-based AOS Progress forum, hence the reason I moved your thread to that forum.

Here is the link to Igor's AOS stats: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/aosstats.php

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Completed: K1/K2 (271 days) - AOS/EAD/AP (134 days) - ROC (279 days)

I've also been sent to the Nebraska Service Center. I've heard of it being sent to CSC when there was no interview (but I thought that was later in the process).

Has Nebraska been doing this for a while? If it hasn't doesn't this mean it will probably be slow like the Texas Service Center.

Also does this mean I won't have an interview?

Our file was transferred to the Nebraska Service Center as well. Our AP and EAD just was approved 8/8/2014, and they received the application on May 13 (AOS was received May 16--though all were mailed together). I went to the USCIS site and I started typing in all the case numbers before mine. In almost every instance for the I 485 they had notification that an interview was going to be happening. Some said a letter was being sent. Others had the specific interview date listed. Our case is still in the acceptance stage. I'm hoping we find out something about the interview schedule soon. It looks like we are due to find out. I just want to know if we will have one or not. However, I'm working on my patience, so wait I will...

We're also being processed thru the Nebraska Service Center. We just had the biometrics last Friday, August 15th. I've been keeping an eye on the website regarding our status. So far nothing has changed. I'll keep everyone posted as I hear more just in case it's of any help.

Best of luck to everyone!

We sent our packet in the Chicago address and the NOA1 address was from NBC in Lee Summit, Missouri and if I checked about our case by calling USCIS it says it is processed in Lincoln, Nebraska. I didnt get any letter though that it was transferred there.
