06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Believe me, I understand where you are coming from. I remarked to my fiance last week that it's amazing we did five years of long distance and we weren't OK with it, but it was tolerable. Now that we have filed, I am a basket case. I check the case status page a few dozen times a day, and so does he. Finally we agreed that we wouldn't look at it all week and we would check it once a week on Saturday when we spend the entire weekend together.

We were assigned to TSC, so the wait is even more frustrating and nervewracking. I finally saw him in May after a long long long wait and while it was the most amazing month of my life, it made things so much harder. I just want him to be here and it feels like we are putting everything on hold because we can't get an actual timeframe.

Annoyingly, we created our own timeline based on the average "5 months", which got him here in March or April 2015. This was for financial reasons, but now with TSC so far behind I am incredibly discouraged. Every day that passes it gets worse - and we only just filed! Even setting our OWN timeline it's hard! I know how you feel. I cycle from impatient, to angry, to sad, to optimistic every day. I try not to think about it, but if I'm honest, it's all I think about.

I hope your journey goes smoothly. There's so many of us here who are going through, or have gone through this process. Family and friends will never understand the way these folks do. It's a great community - even if you feel like you are being selfish or overreacting.. we get it <3

The biggest thing I have found that helps, is not to apologize for your emotions about this. It's a bureaucratic process we have to go through which is so far the opposite of what love is. We should be allowed to feel things and not apologize for it. If you want to be sad, do it. This process strains everything - you know you will be together.. but when? how? how long? what if they reject us? what if we have to wait even LONGER? You need to get those things out - this is a great place to do that.

There's a song I was listening to just after we filed, from Dierks Bentley (sorry if you don't like country) It sums up every reason why I am so impatient.

Cause when a man wants to be with a woman

There ain't no way of gettin' there too fast

When you know who you wanna spend

The rest of your life with you wanna start

The rest of your life

As soon as you can

Are you the beneficiary or the petitioner? If you are the petitioner, you don't require any medical. If you are the beneficiary.. I won't ask if you have any longstanding illnesses, but all that would be required (unless it is something incredibly infectious or out of the ordinary) what I've seen others say is that you have to show you are under a doctor's care and it is being treated. I am a new filer and have not had to deal with this issue, so hopefully others can weigh in on the specifics. I don't believe they will deny you just due to being sick easily, etc.

Please do take care of yourself though. This process will take its toll emotionally, psychologically and maybe even physically if you let it wear you down. Focus on the things you will do together - plan your future, talk about your kids you want (if you do). Discuss what kind of house you want to have and the things you want to do, places to see, etc. Before you know it the time will go quickly. Stressing over it will do nothing but make you miserable and ill and strain your relationship. You've both taken a huge step forward and that is so IMPORTANT!

Like I said, I will not ask whether you have longstanding illnesses, however.. since I do not know the circumstances behind that - if it is severe or time-sensitive, you may be eligible to expedite your petition. See the page at USCIS here -> http://www.uscis.gov/forms/expedite-criteria - if this applies to you, that may be something to look into as well. Since you're assigned to CSC, your wait will probably be very short.. they are processing on average in the 30-90 day window from NOA1 date.

Yesterday we found out that my future mother in law has incurable cancer, and that she may not live long enough to be at our wedding. This is killing us, cause there is nothing we can do to make this faster. Our NOA1 was on May 31 at TSC. I am praying to God every day for her health, because she is a true angel who helped us get together. I feel hopeless, I miss my fiancee and I can't be with him in this moment to support him, help him, and I can't see his mom who I consider my mom too. I can't even describe all the pain we are going through now

Actually I am waiting now for the RFE.. And my fiancé called to uscis. The annoying part is we need to wait for 45 days for them to update the website then two more months for the decision..-.-

If you are getting the medical exam, then you are the beneficiary?

If so, that worry won't help you with the medical exam, correct?

Don't turn a happy situation into a stressful one.

So relax...and trust that all will go well.

And deal with any challenges if and when they rise.

Be happy.
