HI everyone actually i had had applied for B1/B2 visa 1st time got rejected and second time i applied i got it after 15 months of administrative processing and only valid for 11 months but before i could get visa in hand my brother expired and i had to support my family. I didnt travel on this B1/B2 visa which is going to expire next month. I had applied this visa to write clinical exam in usa. Now i am planing to write this exam but my visa is expiring next month and available exam dates i could get is in november. My questions are

1. If i apply for new B1/B2 visa without travelling on old visa will it effect my chances of getting a visa as i didnt use the 1st visa.

2. In case my new visa gets rejected will my old visa be valid before expiry date for travelling to usa for writing exam. Do they cancel old visas with valid period on applying for new visa in same class.

3. If i travel on the old visa before expiry and not able to write this exam either because of decreased permit stay or unavailability of dates does it effect my next chance of getting a new B1/B2 visa.

Unlikely

How would you get a new visa decision in a month? But most likely yes.

As long as you comply with the visa terms should not be an issue.

If they decide not to issue a B then they will likely cancel the existing one.

Your visa expires next month.

You want to go in December.

You will need a visa.

You know the last one took a long time to come through, reasonable to assume you may have the same issue again.

Apply ASAP would seem to be the answer.
