DOS Predictions: FB2A to Move Forward, EB2 India to Retrogress

The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) has announced that it will now begin to issue a report each month intended to provide reliable predictions and analysis regarding the movement of cutoff dates in the visa bulletin. These reports will be based on discussions with Charles Oppenheim, Chief of the Visa Control and Reporting Division, U.S. Department of State (DOS), following the release of each month's visa bulletin. The predictions made in this month's AILA report.

Family Second Preference "A" (FB2A) Likely to Advance Soon

Chief Oppenheim predicts that the long-stagnant FB2A cutoff dates will move forward in September 2014. As of the August 2014 Visa Bulletin, the FB2A cutoff date stands at March 15, 2011 for Mexico, and May 1, 2012 for all other countries of chargeability. In the upcoming September 2014 Visa Bulletin, these dates could advance, "possibly as far as late fall 2012."

Exactly! Its not any tom,####### n harry's prediction. Its a prediction from a very important member of visa control n its highly reliable. It matters to all of us who are dying each day to meet pur loved ones n can be understood by us only. Its a very very big thing for all of us who has been stucked with CC since 4 months...so its not' just' prediction.

No... I am in India and its through consular processing as usual. I am a beneficiary and living in India and my husband is Green card holder,living in US.

Why are some people overly sensitive?? I didn't say "no movement". There will be movement as predicted but the question of "when is late fall 2012?", will it be "Oct 2012" or "Dec 2012" doesn't matter because the cut-off PD was not exactly predicted. AS LONG AS THERE IS MOVEMENT, F2A is GOOD.

That's why I think twice about posting in these prediction threads anymore. It seems that some (actually most) people just want to posts stating what they want to hear and won't care about anything else. You will get chastised and be called insensitive for posting something contradictory even if it's based on facts.

Prez. Obama is going to implement some executive order soon on immigration reform. Almost 12 million illegals going to get their days in the sun, I just hope they don't forget the long tortured spouses and children of the LAWFUL permanent residents :-(
