Hey guys, can you help me out?

I am overwhelmed after reading tons of rules and regulations from USCIS regarding vaccines needed for a 30 year old male

for the adjustment of his status after arrival in the US on K-1 visa. May be, someone has the same experience and could share it?

I have same question as well and have been reading that everyone is getting them. When I look at the website ( http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/types/family/fiance-k-1.html#5 ) , it says: "K visa applicants are encouraged to get the vaccinations required under U.S. immigration law for immigrant visa applicants. Although such vaccinations are not required for K visa issuance, they will be required when adjusting status to that of legal permanent resident following your marriage. Applicants are therefore encouraged to fulfill these vaccination requirements at the time of the medical examination."

....so technically it is not required. I do not want my fiance to go through vaccinations if there is possibility he will not get visa as he is coming from a high fraud country :( I also don't want him to be rejected at the embassy because of that. I am still waiting for NOA2, but I would love this question to be answered as well.

Gather the medical records that state all the vaccines your fiance got in the past, and have him bring them to the medical for his K1 visa. He will be given additional shots, according to what is consider appropriate for his age and medical history. He will also be told which shots, if any, he will need to have in the US for his AOS.

The US Civil Surgeon and the panel doctor at the medical clinic in his country of origin follow the same set of criteria in deciding what vaccines he needs. Judgment does come into play, so it may vary by a vaccine or two, but they are largely the same.

The cost, however, is not the same. Much cheaper in his country of origin, and maybe even free. The side effects are not terrible and go away usually in 2 to 3 days, and they protect him from illnesses that might kill him if he is ever exposed to them. So there is really not much to lose by getting them anyway.

It is not required for K1 Visa but It will be required when you apply for AOS(Adjustment Of Status AKA Green card)

That's not what I need, guys. Thank you, though.

The case is that all childhood records of my fiance's vaccinations have burned down together with the doctor's office in his native village some years ago.

So, I want him to go to the local medical office and have all the needed shots done before the interview. I know he can go to a civil surgeon here in the US, as well as the US embassy accredited clinic will provide him with all necessary shots.

But at a local med office he can: a) have all the shots done very cheaply or for free; b) have them done one at a time, through the course of months we are having ahead while waiting for the petition approval.

So, has anyone come up with the list of vaccinations for a 30 year old male? Please, share!

Don't worry, he will not be turned down due to lack of vaccinations - K-1 visa is not an immigration visa, and vaccination is not required for it.

His vaccines will be only needed for the AOS, when he is already in the States.

Thanks Sekhvaruli. Since my fiance is from Iran, he must specifically travel to embassy (in UAE, Turkey or Armenia only) for medical and interview at the same time. I have been reading that panel physicians are forcing these vaccinations and would not issue medical without it (one example from Ankara, Turkey), someone was told to come back for a 2nd shot of Hep A&B the following month as it is 3 month series and they could not go for interview in which case my fiance cannot do since will be traveling from Iran. That is why I worry so much. I hope it was just once instance with doctor who wanted to make money. I also read they are forcing other vaccines (MMR, etc), but I will try to have him take in his country, but Hep A and B is very expensive. I just don't want to end up paying for these vaccines if he could get them cheaper in his own country.

As to your question, I think all vaccinations needed are listed on here http://www.cdc.gov/i...tions.html#tbl1 listed in one of the comments.

As you can see from that linked chart, what a 30yo adult needs is:

1. Td/Tdap

2. MMR

3. Varicella (unless they have had chicken pox before - some doctors will take a patient's word for it, some doctors will perform a blood immunity test)

4. Influenza (only if it is flu season, i.e. Oct 1 - Mar 31, which it is not)

Flying to Seattle on 6 May 2014!

Hep A & B can be given at any point of life ( I got mine at 35 for work), so if they didn't get it before 18, does it mean is no longer required?

you can get those vaccines for your fiance for his own health, at your own convenience, if you wish.

neither of those vaccines are required for anyone over 18, for immigration purposes.
