Does anyone have any experience with a 221g? Can anyone tell me how long it takes for them to give you an answer after they receive your paperwork?

Hi, me too I'm in AP with 221g..After sending missing documents I wrote an e mail to the Consulate (I'm in Italy) and they replied this process take from 1 to 4 months..Try to ask to your Consulate

It takes that long? Now I have read what it said in these forums but I just find it a little hard to believe.... I asked the interviewer here in paris how long it takes them to process the paperwork once they receive it and she said 7-10 business days.... do you guys think that could be true or did she just tell me that to get rid of me lol....?

Wow! just 10 business day! I think they don't have any reason to lie, they don't care how many time you need to wait, so if they tell to you this wait time will be so!! happy for you so lucky!

Can I ask to you what kind of documents you missing?

Well I hope its true what they are saying because that means waiting time would be over soon and we are waiting for his visa in order to go on vacation before we go to the sates... so frustrating..... anyhow I submitted my paperwork on june 14 so it should be any matter of day now.... They told me i needed to submitt a copy of my tax return for 2013 even if i did not work..... I know the law does not require me to file taxes if i didnt work and i told them that but the interviewer said regardless of that you need to submit a tax return even with a zero income.... anyhow so i filed my taxes online with zero income and then mailed it the next day to the embassy.... May I ask you what paperwork they requested from you and when your interview was? Also, did the interviewer tell you the same thing :" Congratulations you are approved but in order for us to issue a visa for you your petitioner has to submit a copy of a 2013 tax return?" That sentence there was weird because they could now not approve the visa if they didn't like it ahhhh I am so dissapointed and miserable.....

Yes, I know how you feel!! but don't worry I think they wanna only be sure you are not income for 2013 year.

They ask to me some criminal record about my father, because in form DS-260 was a question about substance trafficking, so they need to investigate (I think) I'm okey..I have had my interview 21 May, but the interviewer tell me "Thank you for be honest, but I'm sorry to continue your case we need some documents.."

Don't worry if they tell you are approved, will be so, just they need to review your send documents!

My interviewer told me I was basically approved pending sending them another records check since they didn't like the one I had with me. She said it should only take 1-2 weeks and once they had it in their office it would go forward a snothing had happened. She asked me to mail both the check + passport.

Well lets hope we will get out of AP soon like our interviewers told us... its been almost 2 weeks with mine too, please let me know when you receive something so that we can see sone predictions timewise.... I will also post if something happens at my end..... good luck

Please let me know. Sometimes I think this forum is the only thing keeping me sane. I really miss my husband =/.

Yes, you will hear good news by tomorrow or early next week. I and my husband are also waiting, we are on "AP" too. The CO was confused or had a hung over, bec the questions she asked my husband to answer thru letter are wrong. She was asking my husband why he did not comeback to visit me in 1 and a half year. My husband visited me 5 times in 2013, only this year 2014 bec we did not want to spend money again as we are waiting for my visa. And also asked why did he marry me the first time he visited me. Another question, Why did my husband put single on his 2013 tax. My husband amended it and sent it to the embassy. And the rest proofs of our relationship (which I already submitted to them on the day of my interview) but anyway I added more and also asked for a few civil docs (sent to the embassy).

Our case was updated 4 times. The last time is today June 26. I and my husband are really having hard time being apart. We have not seen each other for nearly 6 months. And I have been crying a lot, what makes us both stronger and hopeful now is to pray to god. We are hoping for the good news next week. Well, we will pray for everyone here who are having tough time waiting for visa.
