Do I need w2 and tax returns?

Yes.

FYI.

Your complete tax returns means the 1040 (or 1040a, 1040EZ, etc.) and ALL documents which includes your W-2s that you submitted to the IRS.

Your complete tax return does not mean only the 1040.

I think I over did it on this lolol I sent 1040, W2's, copies of pay stubs, copies of all my deposits in the last year at the bank and letters from my jobs. whew lol

I had everything too. My husband provided me bank account statements from 2 banks, his saving, insurance policy, and pay stubs. But the lady at Window 5 - who checked all documents- only asked form I-134 (original), W-2, and 2012 federal tax return.

You can download the tax return transcript immediately from the IRS website. Hope that solves your problem.

The reason 1040 alone will not do is that you can get a blank form and fill in your own numbers. Embassy wants something better.

I sent transcripts, and that was MUCH easier than all the other stuff. I didn't send W2's for any of the 3 tax years I sent transcripts for.

For my fiance, I brought most recent tax transcript (printed for free from IRS website) and his W2.

My co-sponsor provided only his most recent tax transcript. No W2.

Neither provided tax returns (1040s)

AOS

August 26, 2014: NOA1

September 16, 2014: RFE for further evidence of Joint Sponsor's current income

September 24, 2014: RFE response recieved

September 24, 2014: Biometrics taken At Detroit, MI

September 25, 2014: Status changed to "Request For Evidence Response Review"

October 9, 2014: I 485 changed to "Testing and Interview"

October 9, 2014: EAD changed to "Card/Document Production"

October 9, 2014: AP changed to "Post Decision Activity"

October 18, 2014: EAD and AP arrive in the mail!

October 23, 2014: Got a Job! - My very first American job! Yay!

January 14, 2015: AOS interview
