F2A and Recent Visa Bulletin don't understand????

Okay I am helping out a friend. They have been case complete at NVC since April 2014. There priority date is June 29, 2012.

Unfortunately they got a bad lawyer that had them stuck at NVC from August 2013 until case complete in April. Now they sit.

If I am looking at the Visa bulletin correct it says they are processing 08SEP13. So what is the issue here for my friend?

Who can they call to find out what is going on?

If they upgrade the petition to IR1/CR1, a new and separate i130 must be filed for each child. Maybe that's the complication the lawyer was trying to avoid (not that I'm defending him).

September 1, 2010: Switched course from K1 to CR-1
December 8, 2010: Wedding date set; it will be on February 18, 2011!
February 9, 2011: Depart for China
February 11, 2011: Registered for marriage in Wuhan, officially married!!!

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

Unfortunately, for JUNE 2014 VB, F2A has retrogressed to 01MAY2012.

Your friend's PD is no longer current. http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/law-and-policy/bulletin/2014/visa-bulletin-for-june-2014.html

Might be a few months more of waiting.

They got screwed by that lawyer.

He has been eligible to file for citizenship since October 2013. The lawyer told him he should wait until family is here or he will mess up and delay his case. So here they sit. can you believe this ish. :ranting::protest:

I figure maybe by end of year they might get an interview date. Since I have no idea how fast they get through a week they are 29June12.

You know I just heard about this having to file a separate when people upgrade and didn't connect the dots. I see now.

So how long does it take them to get through a month? Since they are at 01May2012 how long till they get to 29June2012?

The VBs got stuck at 08SEP13 for months..so it might be a longer wait.

Looking forward to OCT where new visas are allocating once again.
