Good Morning all,

Back in December I filed for my AOS, have since had Biometrics, got my EAD Card and have started a new job.

After sending in my AOS pack I soon realized I had forgotten to submit an I-131 Advance Parole. I have an EAD with 'NOT VALID FOR REENTRY TO U.S.'.

I wasn't too worried about this as figured I would have my AOS interview and have my GC.

However, this isn't the case, I still haven't had my interview yet.

My job will require that I travel overseas in about 3 months time.

What happens If I file my I-131 now? Do I have to re-do biometrics or do they simply just issue a new EAD that is valid for reentry?

I know this may take a couple of months, but it could still be quicker than my interview etc.

Thanks

AP does not require biometrics. They will not issue you a new EAD, they will just give you the AP documentation separately. Be sure to include a copy of your receipt notice for filing the I-485 with your I-131. That way the fee is still waived.

Yes. You still need to include everything it asks for. You can probably use a copy of your EAD as ID and proof of current status.

Send it in with a copy of your AOS NOA1 or your K-1 NOA2 and I-94.

No to the above.

What does the I-129F petition approval notice and I-94 have to do with this?

OP should follow the I-131 instructions and provide a copy of their EAD for ID and proof of current status(can include copy of K-1 visa for that too, if you wish), 2 passport photos, and a copy of the I-485 receipt notice as proof of being an adjustment applicant. You will receive a paper AP instead of it being attached to your EAD, but the paper version is equally as valid for travel purposes.

It typically takes 90 days to receive AP, so if your employer expects you to travel within three months there's a strong possibility you won't have it in time.
