I know this question has been asked many times but as I have my package all ready to be sent, i read a post that one of the members posted in regards to the divorce decree...

My fiance's divorce decree its like 5 pages... We are from the Dominican Republic and I was told that I only had to send a translated copy of the final divorce certificate... not the whole entire divorce decree ( I think it will be too many pages to translate) Any one who can help! Specially from the Dominican Republic!\

Thank you !!!

You need to send a copy of the document in its original language and a translation of it in English.

That info is NOT correct. If you are sending a divorce decree with your I-129F petition to the USCIS, then it MUST have an English translation with it.

From the I-129F instructions> http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-129finstr.pdf

Translations. Any document submitted to USCIS with information in a foreign language must be accompanied by a full

English translation. The translator must certify that the English language translation is complete and accurate, and that he

or she is competent to translate from the foreign language into English.

Anyone fluent in both languages can do the translation and use this certification > http://www.visajourney.com/content/translations

Yes, it does. The person advised you just send it in Spanish with no need to translate it. I wanted to point out that bit of advice was bad. You seem on top of things, so all is good. :)
