Early biometrics attempt at Boston ACS - Failed

Hello!

Just wanted to share my experience at the Boston ACS this morning. I have my biometrics scheduled for Lawrence, MA on May 9th but decided to try to go early in Boston, since that's where I work. First I went to the wrong building - the ACS and the USCIS are different offices. When I got to the ACS, I explained politely to the security guard that I would like to have my biometrics taken since I would have to take a day off from work to go to Lawrence. He seemed sympathetic, but said he would have to ask his supervisor.
The supervisor came out and I explained the same thing to him. Both of them asked me if I would have trouble making the May 9th appointment and I didn't lie: I wouldn't, but I would rather not have to take time off from work to do it (and from what I heard the Lawrence ACS is awful, but I didn't say that). The supervisor said that he couldn't help me today, but I could come back on May 9th to have it done in Boston instead of going to Lawrence. He even asked me if it was better in the morning or afternoon.
In the end, he was really nice about it and signed the biometrics appointment sheet saying he said it was ok to have it done in Boston instead, and to show up around 8am when they open.

I read in this forum and others that early appointments were no problem, so I was really surprised about the way this turned out. Did anybody have a similar experience? Should I try again before May 9th?

Thanks!

Those that will take early walkins, do so when they are not too busy. If you hit them on a less busy day, you may have luck.

Actually, this is a spousal visa case, it's just an AOS instead of consular processing because I'm already in the US on a different visa. So please move to that section instead.

Thanks

I've done it successfully during in AOS in Cincinnati, then tried during RoC and was let in but they were pretty busy and told me to wait until they're done with everybody that is currently waiting so just drove back home and came back on my scheduled time. Now ASC appointments in Cincinnati are in a large Federal Plaza building so the guards downstairs don't even look at the date/time of the appointment.
