Brazil Processing Times for I-601 Waiver - Help

I have a question about the I-601 waiver,
We had an interview for the K-1 visa on January 14th, and the consul said, “we were approved for the K-1 Visa, but we needed to file the I-601 waiver”.

We filed the I-601 waiver in March, and on April 16th we received the I-797C (the notice date is 04-08-2014). It told us that our case was sent to Nebraska visa center, and online our case status shows that we are in the initial review.

So my question is;
1) can the USCIS approve the I-601 sooner than the 4 to 5 months processing times they are showing, and;
2) does it follow any kind of order to be processed?

The reason I ask is because, I have been seeing posts about how the USCIS is currently going through the I-601 waivers that were filed in October 2013. But most of these posts were from people living in Mexico.
Does it make a difference if you are from another country filing the I-601?

It is hard to find right informations about how it works for Brazil cases. I have searched all the Immigrate2US website.

I appreciate any help to these question I have, thank you.

F.

1. Maybe. Mine took a little over 6 mos. they all go to Nebraska unless they are the 601a, those go to different offices. 2. They technically go by your receipt date, but at the same time I was approved at 6 mos some people only waited 5 and others 10 mos and still nothing but I think 6 months is a good estimate.

Looking at your timeline, you got married. You cannot use the K-1 to come here. You need to file for the IR-1. Your K-1 will be denied because it is for fiancé/fiancées only.

I'm not legally married. No paper was signed. Was just a blessing ceremony with my family, since my legal wedding will happen on US and they won't be able to be there.

I don't know, I still think that there is some difference from country to country.

I'm asking those questions because there were cases of brazilians being approved in 1 to 2 months last year. I saw that on immigrate2us.

It's confusing having all those informations everywhere, but none is specific.

Thank you anyway.

time frames have changed since last year and you may be looking at expedites also. but the norm right now is around 6 months. some take longer when the 601 is for criminal as opposed to overstay only. However they do not adjudicate mexico faster than brazil waivers. some are processed faster than others however i think it just depends on the officer that is doing your waiver, they all go to the same place. however in any case, good luck.

They wrong about that.

We made a huge research about the subject before do the ceremony here, and talked to USCIS officers.

It only matters if you are LEGALLY married. Wich is not my case.

Yes, I saw expedites and no expedites cases, they all took about the same time to get approved.

I guess the only way to know is to call the USCIS and ask.

Thanks anyway.

And good luck for you too.

It does not matter what Country the alien is from, all cases are adjudicated in the order they are received. Nebraska is adjudicating now the cases received in December 2013.I have several I-601 approved that USCIS received in October/November 2013, then you will have ahead 3/ 4months.
