We're getting ready for my husband's ROC.

Here's what we got so far (all copies)

  • Credit cards showing the same account number and our names (front and back)
  • Tax returns 2012, 2013
  • Verizon Wireless showing our names, account number and the address (front page)
  • Lease agreement 2013-14
  • His tax refund check
  • Copies of our ID's
  • Health insurance. Here's the issue: the cards are on my name. However, the letter and all benefit information has both our names, so I made copies of that.
  • Joint savings account. We opened it this month. I hope is not an issue.
  • Pictures (around 12)
  • Evidence of our trip to Atlanta for my sister's wedding

Are we missing something? Of course, I will continue to compile more evidence, but I want to cover all holes. Do I need to receipts of restaurants and stuff like that (just like the K-1)?

Also, what triggers a denial? I've read that you may have all the financials, but that doesn't prove a bonafide marriage.

Thank you :goofy:

For 2012 it should be transcript.2011 tax transcript is needed if got married in 2011.

Joint Lease should cover two years time.

Utility bills should be included for address proof,if they at one person's name then show letters or bills received at same address for other person to show common address.

You need to show joint bank account statements for whole period for showing comingling of finances.

Looks good!

You might want to include two affidavits by friends. Here's what we had (we just got approved):

  • Copies of the passport and green card
  • Copies of 2011 and 2012 joint tax returns
  • Copy of joint rental contract
  • Copies of various joined car insurance cards
  • Copy of health insurance notices showing a joint policy (what you have is fine, just include the paper with a copy of your card)
  • Copy of bank statement showing joined bank account, and letter from bank stating joined bank account
  • Two affidavits by U.S. citizen friends, attesting our relationship and marriage
  • Various post cards from friends/family adressed to us (including copy of envelope with address)
  • Pictures

Good luck and a smooth journey! :)

Where are the bills? You should have at least 2 years worth of evidence.

Our rent includes all utilities. So, the other thing we have is Verizon and the mobiles. Is that enough? We live in NY so we don't drive.
