why moderators allow sarcastic replies?

I am new to this forum, I've been asking questions and getting some anwers...thank you so much! I am also browsing through many other threats to see what information I can use and I have come across to many , way too many sarcastic replays. Why? are they necessary? why moderatos allow that? who gives power to who here? isn't this place to ask valid questions without being made fun of? is this a safe place to get some real help to go thru such hassle process? please please do not make offensive remarks to others, they don't help. If you don't have the answer to the questions just don't post anything. Thank you

I think, at times, people come in and before doing any sort of research or trying to figure things out on their own ...they post questions repeatedly. Some people might get a little annoyed at that if it happens a lot and so they answer sarcastically. It is true especially if they had spent their time researching things (for their own applications) and know that it is often quite easy and less time consuming to just search for an answer rather than post question and wait for the answers that have been given 1000 times before

Sometimes you may take a reply as being sarcastic when really it's not. It's very hard to interpret tone in the written word when you don't know someone. I once wrote as a face book status "some people ugh" after talking to a friend. It had nothing to do with her but she took it quite personally. I was very annoyed that she wouldn't even answer the phone after writing me a rude response.

Try to not take anything said on a message board as personal.

The easiest thing on a board like this, that is heavy on the "do it yourself" is to make sure you do your searches and try to find the answer before asking a bunch of questions. Most often just reading the instructions for a form will give you the answer you need.

Did you report the sarcastic posts? We have few moderators and they are all volunteers, we cannot read every post on Visajourney. We rely on members to alert us when something is against our TOS (http://www.visajourney.com/content/terms). The way to do that is to click on "report" at the bottom right of each post, and give a short explanation of why you think the post is a problem. The next moderator online will look at it.

Guess what? Now I am being bashed for speaking out and not let the " read between lines" " assuming" " self curiousity" comments in. What great deal!

Well it all leads to the things people are allowed to get away with. I am new here as well and have seen many new members bashed, rude remarks given too and very judgmental personal remarks made to them, from members who have been here for years and have been through this process already. Bullying and making disgusting remarks etc. to leading off of the initial conversation to looking through your personal profile and inviting themselves to have the audacity to make snide remarks about your couples pictures, job, and so forth. This causes members to leave and I have been here for about a month and have seen so many people feel attacked and leave this site because of it. I would never have thought coming on a site like this for support and help (which is what some of the older people who have been through this process before and have been around should be doing instead of targeting others with hurtful and unrelated remarks to the site is quite upsetting. This is supposed to be a family based website, not a website where you have people running around able to get away with public bashing etc. and get away with it. It's quite upsetting actually, but I have met some wonderful people on here and tend to try to ignore the ones who get a rise out of belittling others.
